What Does the FEC Do?

Monthly Calls

The FEC holds regular monthly conference calls with representatives from involved communities. These calls are used to discuss ongoing projects, make decisions, and maintain community connections across the network.

Annual Assembly

Each spring, the FEC holds its annual assembly, hosted in rotation by a full member community. Delegates gather together to welcome new communities, address complex topics, and make plans for the future of the FEC.

PEACH

PEACH (Preservation of Equity Accessible for Community Health) is a program that supports participating communities with major medical costs. Governed independently from the FEC by representatives from each member group, PEACH offers financial security rooted in mutual aid.

Labor Exchanges

Labor Exchanges allow FEC community members to temporarily live and work at other communities while being compensated in their home communities and having their travel costs covered by the FEC. These exchanges support skill-sharing, cooperation, and cohesion across the network.

Mini-Grants

The FEC offers small grants—typically up to $500—to support certain projects that are aligned with the FEC’s mission and values. To apply for a mini-grant, please contact us to say how much you’re requesting, what your project is, and why you think it would be a good fit for FEC funding.

Outreach

The FEC promotes egalitarian communities through media, publications, presentations, and events. The organization supports current and past members of FEC communities sharing their experiences to inform others about cooperative, income-sharing alternatives to mainstream society.
